Airports, Falling, and Vegas, Baybee!

posted Monday, 6 April 2009

I'm sitting in Cleveland Hopkins Airport, waiting for our flight to Las Vegas.  YES!  We are leaving the SNOW behind -- or so we hope!!!  I am fighting a sinus infection AND a cold, and the medicine I'm taking is making me super-thirsty (not good when needing to use the restroom on a plane... much discombobulation and irritation ensues), but I'm hoping the dry air and sunshine will help a girl out.  We also would like to come home somewhat richer than we are when we get there.

In other news from the gracelessness department, I fell in a most spectacular fashion yesterday.  I was taking down the plastic we had over the window that's above the master bathtub and as I was standing on the tub enclosure (it's a jacuzzi tub), I unceremoniously lost my balance (hello?  sinus trouble?  what balance?) and fell into a corner of a wall.  What you need to understand is that the corner is an 'outward' corner, rather than being an 'inward' corner, so I was able to hit the corner with my right wrist (on the bone, thankyouverymuch) my left forearm, and my left knee before bouncing to the ground.  At least I was successful in protecting my head from hitting the corner.  Because that?  Would have hurt like a sonofabitch.   So now, I have pretty bruises for the world to see, AND I can't walk right.  Good times, I tell you.  As I was falling, all I could think was Oh shit, the corner!  Oh shit, the corner!  Don't hit the corner!  I see how well that worked.

Anyway, since we'll be in Vegas, I won't be weighing in on Idol this week.  I could, but then I'd be wasting valuable Vegas time.  So, instead, I'll watch it on my TiVo when I get back.  However, that doesn't mean that I won't be placing a bet or two on some contestants whilst in Vegas....

Until I return, play nice!
