American Idol: Final Seven -- Two Gettin' the Boot!

posted Wednesday, 22 April 2009

We open tonight with a group number choreographed by none other than Ms. Paula Abdul herself.  Holy Disco, Batman!  I have to say that most of the guys look like George Michael, for some reason.  And he's not even from the disco era.  What up with dat?  Anyway, on to the business...

Lil Rounds was Not-So-Safe.  She was asked to walk to the far end of the stage.  BAM!  She's a goner!  Lil's journey ends here, as Ryan said.

And now, a disco medley... huh?  Freda Payne sang part of her song, Band of Gold.  Um, she sounded like pure disco hell.  Totally off-key.  When was the last time she sang and moved on a stage???!?  I do have to say that she looks AWESOME for her age... she's 66, people... and she looks better than many 40-year-olds.  Thelma Houston sang her song, Don't Leave Me This Way.  She sounded better than Miss Freda and looked good for 65.  Oh my... KC from KC and the Sunshine Band... I never, ever knew that KC was a white dude!!!!  Can you see my mouth hanging open from there?!?  OK... through my laughter, I will tell you that he sang Get Down Tonight.  OMG... I can't believe the dude is white.  [ROTFLMAO]

Kris Allen was Safe.  As he should be.

Adam Lambert was Safe.  Damn straight.

Danny Gokey was Safe.  Again, I expected as much.

Anoop Desai was Not-So-Safe.  Bottom Three, as he should be.

Allison Iraheta was Not-So-Safe.  I'm surprised, yet I'm not.

Matt Giraud was Safe.  I have to say that I am surprised.

...and now, we have David Archuleta singing his song, Touch My Hand.  Oh, look!  A ballad with a slight beat behind it.  He is way off-key!!  I was going to TiVo through his performance anyway.  Doot-da-doot-da-doot!

The second person going home tonight is Anoop Desai.  Allison Iraheta is Safe.  It was also Anoop's time to leave.  I do like his voice, but it was his time to go.

Hey, that's all for tonight... and it's off to bed I go!  Toodles!
