Sweat

posted Monday, 9 June 2008

Sooooo... if the human body is made up mostly of water, then I should be a squirming mass o'something, as I believe I sweatted out the majority of my body's water during Jazzercise class tonight.

Yes, I said the singular form -- I only could handle one class on my normal double-class night.  Why?  Because it was 93+ degrees today and the A/C in our Jazzercise center is broken.  Kaput.  I think I heard it say, "Sweat, you bitches!  SWEAT!!!!"  And sweat, we sure as hell did.

We had 5 fans going in all different directions... the front and back doors were propped open.... and it was hotter than fuck in there.  I had even changed back into my tank top that I was wearing before I changed into my workout gear.  My Jazzercise t-shirt was sure to suffocate me.  BTW, I never, ever wear sleeveless tops to work out in because I'm afraid I'll kill the other people around me with the wave of my underarm flaps... or the breeze they provide.  Today, it didn't effin' matter because it was so effin' HAWT.

There was no way in hell I had the energy or the sweat left to do the second class.  Luckily, the other two class managers happened to show up for class, so I told them I'd do the paperwork and data entry into the computer for the 4 new people we had sign up today and they could watch the class and make sure the ladies did not pass out or have any other medical emergencies with the heat.

So yeah, the A/C will be out for at least a week.... as it needs to be completely replaced, and we all know that doesn't magically happen overnight.  At least it should be cooling down for the next few days.

Switching gears here... have any of you ever felt stupid because you're outside, watering your flowers, right before a thunderstorm rolls in?  That was me tonight.  I had the hose out and everything before I looked up at the sky and saw the dark, dark clouds rapidly approaching.  I watered anyway.  I figured that if I didn't water, the storm would pass or not dump much rain at all.  If I watered and it also rained, then bonus water for the plants, right????  I didn't get the garden watered, but I think the storm is taking care of that for me.

Well, it's time for a shower to wash the stink off of me.  Then it's time to rehydrate with some water, watermelon, and coooool grapes.  I might also have to dump a salt shaker's worth of salt down my throat to replace what I lost today... but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.  But I think I'll wait until the thunderstorm passes....
